Richard Connor Jr.

Obituary of Richard J. Connor Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard “Dick” Connor Jr., who peacefully left this world on Friday, March 7, 2025, in Kingston, at the age of 81. Born on Monday, August 23, 1943, in Voorheesville, Richard was a beloved son of the late Richard and Margaret (née Lee) Connor.

Richard, a proud graduate of Clayton A. Bouton Junior-Senior High School, possessed a strong work ethic and a passion for craftsmanship. He honed his skills as a roofer, eventually establishing and running his own successful company, Award Roofing, for many years. His dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on the community.

Beyond his professional life, Richard embraced life's simple pleasures. He found joy in the open road, riding his motorcycles with a spirit of freedom. He was also a devoted fan of classic westerns, finding comfort and entertainment in their timeless stories. His passion for collecting old cars and his enthusiasm for motorcycles were testaments to his vibrant and adventurous soul.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Barbara Connor, and his sisters, Catherine Siver and Virginia Raynsford. While their absence left a void in his life, he carried their memories with him always.

Richard's legacy of love and family lives on through his children: Shawn Connor, Missy (Alan) Scully, Kelly Connor, Margaret Connor, Megan Connor, and Richard Connor III. He also leaves behind several adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure the moments they shared with him.

Richard's kind heart, hardworking spirit, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 10:30 am at St. Agnes Cemetery 48 Cemetery Ave, Menands, NY.

May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration during this difficult time. Condolences may be left at www.ajcunninghamfh.com.
