Obituary of Barry W. Cooke Jr.

PRESTON HOLLOW – Barry W. Cooke, Jr., 55, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.

            Born in Cobleskill on November 20, 1969, he was son of Barry W. and Sally Warner Cooke of Preston Hollow.  Barry was a graduate of Middleburgh Central School and was a lifelong resident of Preston Hollow.  He was employed as a polisher by Fab-Tech of Kingston, and had his own lawn mowing service.  Barry enjoyed hunting, and was formerly a member of the Tri-Village Volunteer Fire Company and the Rensselaerville Ambulance.

            In addition to his parents, Barry is survived by a sister, Mona Vandermark; two aunts, Sheila Cooke and Luella Borst; and several cousins.

            In keeping with Barry’s wishes, he has been cremated, and his ashes will be buried privately, at a later date, in the family plot in Brookside Cemetery in Preston Hollow.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Brookside Cemetery, or to Preston Hollow Baptist Church, both in Preston Hollow, NY 12469 will be appreciated.
