GUILDERLAND – Rosalie (Sutton) Van Kuren, (April 14, 1939 – February 21, 2025) passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love and support of her three children.
Born in Cairo, Rosalie was one of five siblings. She lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family.
After retiring from Sears, Roebuck & Co., Rosalie went on to enjoy working at Indian Ladder Farms for 15 years. She was a devoted wife to her husband, James L. Van Kuren. They spent their time together traveling around the world, and playing golf. She found great joy in caring for her family, often filling her home with the comforting aromas of homemade meals and treats. Above all, Rosalie treasured the time spent caring for her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories through her kindness and warmth. She will be remembered as a gentle woman with enormous love, patience, and generosity.
Rosalie is preceded in death by her husband, James; her three brothers, Lester Field, Clifford Field, and Charles Sutton; and her granddaughter, Hannah Van Kuren. She is survived by her cherished sister, Claire Mower; as well as her children, Mark Van Kuren, Renee Van Kuren, and Linda Livingston (Jeffrey). Rosalie also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Elijah Van Kuren, Joshua (Nikki) Ross, Brittany Livingston, Gretchen Van Kuren, Bryan Livingston, Jory and James Roe, and Ezra Van Kuren; four great-grandchildren, Lilliana Allen, Jeffrey “Liam” Livingston, Harrison and Franklin Ross. She will be deeply missed by numerous other family members and friends.
