Obituary of Martin K. Lloyd
Preston Hollow – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin K. Lloyd, age 79, at his home on Friday, February 7, 2025. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and papa.
Martin was born 79 years ago on July 28, 1945 in the Town of Broome, NY, to Malcolm and Virginia (Kelsey) Lloyd. He was raised in Preston Hollow, NY and was a graduate of the Middleburgh Central School class of 1964. Martin was a member of the Army National Guard serving from 1965 until 1971.
He worked as a truck mechanic for Orange Motors in Albany, NY from 1970 until 1986, where he then went to work as a truck mechanic for the Town of Rensselaerville until his retirement in 2007.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping trips and family vacations, antiquing, scenic country drives and weekend summer campfires. Martin was very welcoming and would talk to anyone.
Martin is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Lorraine (Winans) Lloyd and two children, daughter Leslie (Troy) Hallenbeck and son Keith Lloyd, granddaughter Ashley (Killian) Bates, grandson TJ (Paige) Hallenbeck, great -granddaughter Khloe Bates, sister Brenda (Gerald) Wood and brother Lawrence (Amy) Lloyd and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 14th from 4 until 6 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Interment will take place at the Brookside Cemetery, Preston Hollow at a later date, to be announced by the family. Condolences may be made at www.ajcunninghamfh.com.
