Adam Karl Fischer "Husband, Dad, Poppy, Chubs, Brother, Uncle" (1936 - 2024)

A lifelong resident of Long Island, NY, Adam Fischer passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the age of 88 in Catskill, NY. Born in Queens, NY on May 27, 1936, Adam lived his best life alongside his wife Barbara at their home in Port Jefferson Station. Adam was a true jack-of-all-trades, having thrived in careers as a tax preparer, landscaper, farmer, machinist, and even toner cartridge remanufacturer.

Adam's dedication to his family was unwavering. From a young age, he poured his heart into ensuring their well-being through hard work and determination. He was known as an opportunist, a reliable provider, and a man always willing to lend a hand (or dispense some good-natured advice and grumpiness). Above all, Adam cherished creating a close-knit family bond.

Beyond his work ethic, Adam enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including gardening, reading, doing puzzles, collecting coins and Department 56 houses, and tackling sudoku puzzles.

Surviving family members include his wife Barbara Fischer, Son Adam & wife Lisa Fischer, Daughter Dawn Fischer & partner Randy Minns, Grandchildren Jacqueline, Cheryl & Colt Fischer.

Adam was cremated privately. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, August 10, at 1pm at the Resurrection Lutheran Church, 186 Main Street, Cairo, Pastor Victor Nelson officiating.
