OAK HILL – Gloria Mae Dratz, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at St. Peter’s Hospital.


Gloria was born in Middle Village, Queens, on May 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Roland and Grace Jansen. Gloria was the last surviving child of the Jansen family. She was raised in Middle Village and moved to Oak Hill upon her marriage to the late Martin L. Dratz. Gloria worked as a bookkeeper at Stiefel Laboratories, and assisted her late son at his restaurant, the former Karl’s Oak Hill Kitchen. She was a member of the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oak Hill, and more recently attended Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cairo.


Gloria is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Martin L. “Marty” Dratz on November 1, 2015, and her beloved son, Karl L. Dratz on August 23, 2016.


Private cremation has taken place, and Gloria’s ashes will be buried on the family lot in Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Resurrection Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 563, Cairo, NY 12413 will be appreciated. Condolence page is available at ajcunninghamfh.com.
