HANNACROIX – Jeremiah A. “Jerry” Ottaviano, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at St. Peter’s Hospital.


Born in Plainfield, NJ on September 30, 1933, he was a son of the late Angelo and Rose Dean Ottaviano. Jerry was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He worked in the family business, was a carpenter for Henry Mormile Contracting, and a heavy equipment operator at Spancrete in South Bethlehem, retiring many years ago. Jerry was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed whittling.


Jerry is survived by his stepson, Richard (Pat) Bruno; grandchildren, Richard Bruno and Darlene Mergendahl; great-grandson, Jonathan Mergendahl; brother, Phillip “Mickey” (Glenda) Ottaviano; nieces and nephews, Rose Ottaviano, Dorothy Ann Ottaviano-Gordon, Evelyn Ketterer, Tony Ottaviano Jr., Michael Ottaviano, Robert Beck, Kenneth Beck; great-nieces and nephews, Jeremiah Beck, Kenneth Beck Jr., Edward Beck, Michael Savage, Laura Haley; special friends, Ben and Chika Bailey. In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Ann Beck Ottaviano, who died March 26, 2005; his brother, Tony Ottaviano; and his nephew, Dale Beck.


Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 31st from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Thursday, February 1st at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Coeymans.
