MIDDLEBURGH - Jeanne G. Rydell Giffin, age 80, died peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, she was daughter of the late Albin "Harry" and Berna Johanson Rydell, both Swedish immigrants. She was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Stanley Rydell. Jeanne will be missed, especially for her wonderful ability to entertain, her interior decorating skills and her traditional Swedish smorgasbord for Christmas. Jeanne is survived by her son, Robert "Bobby" Deane and his wife Sherrie of Middleburgh; her precious grandson, Robert "Jon" Deane and his significant other, Amber Ofsum of Watervliet; and her sister-in-law, Cecelia Rydell of Middleburgh. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
