Obituary of Edward A. Grabowski

Edward A. Grabowski, 89 years, of Preston Hollow, NY (formerly of Bloomfield, NJ) passed away on Jan. 21, 2010 in St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. He was born in Orange, NJ on Oct. 13, 1920, son of the late Stanley and Anna (Smiecinski) Grabowski. Edward served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII attaining the rank of Staff-Sgt. He was the Proprietor, for 32 years, in partnership with Robert Hempstead, of EveryReady Hobby and Sports Center in Bloomfield, NJ until the business was sold in 1986. He moved from Bloomfield, NJ to Preston Hollow in 1986. Edward was a member of the Tri Town Memorial VFW Post # 7729. He attended St. John the Baptist Church in Greenville, NY. Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by one brother and seven sisters. Surviving are his loving nieces and nephews and special friends and caregivers, Donald and Nora Hempstead. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010 at 9:30 AM, from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY 12083 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St John the Baptist Church in Greenville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 7 PM. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Potter Hollow Cemetery.
