My son was friends with James through school, starting all the way back in prek. The deaf and hard of hearing program gave them a safe space to be themselves and flourish. It allowed the kids to find friendships in eachother. We are so lucky to have known James. His loss certaintly is felt among the community, and particularly in my little guy's heart ❤️

I only knew James for a short time but you could tell he loved being in school and being with his friends. He will be missed.

James was such a sweet friend to my daughter Lani. They were besties at school and loved being around each other. Our hearts are broken for your family. Sending love and prayers during this difficult time.

Words can’t describe the special memory James has left behind on his friends and teachers at Westmere. My favorite memory of James is seeing him each morning and signing “I love you”, he always said it back and followed up with the biggest hug. I will miss those hugs and his warm presence, belly laughs and love for sweets. Fly high sweet boy, you have touched my heart forever.

James was one of the first students I worked with when I came to Westmere. He was so full of love and joy. He loved to be with his friends at school, and was always ready to play or give hugs. He loved to be silly and have fun. I will miss seeing his smile and hearing his laugh every day. We love you so much James, rest in peace.

I remember the first time I got a hug from James. I was a little down and he noticed and just walked up to me a gave me a hug smile and left. Sure did made my day. He was such a silly boy loved his uno game even though he loved to cheat hahaha. I remember him getting so mad at me once because I put the water bottle in the trash and not the recycling. I will miss this little man who came such a long way in the two years I was with him.

I met James when he came to kindergarten. He was a joy to be around. He would also make sure I put my yogurt container in the right recycling bin and if I didn’t he would let me know. He had big heart and would love to give hugs to staff and other students. I will miss his smile and hugs he would give me. Rest in peace James you will always have a special place in my heart. Barb and Ed , what does one say ? God took a very special young man home after years of struggles and heart ache . But you both know you gave up your life for him gave him the best of care and such love that one can give . You searched and found every doctor to help this young man through rough times . He was a lucky young man to be placed with you and he knew it and loved you for it all. He’s now looking down at you with love and thankfulness . Live Deb
