Obituary of Frank Irving Staples

GREENVILLE – Frank I. Staples, 77, passed away suddenly on Sunday January 14, 2018 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 30, 1940 in Germantown to the late Frank and Marie James Staples. He was raised in Rensselaerville and recently moved from Hudson. Frank owned his own businesses throughout the years, including a window washing company and a shoe business. Frank enjoyed playing guitar and would play at the Kilcar in Norton Hill. He was a great person to talk to and everyone enjoyed his company. Frank used to enjoy collecting different guns and attending gun shows. He was a member of the American Legion Post 291. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Dawn Leno, and by his siblings. Frank is survived by his wife, Louise Irwin Staples; his children, Ann and Steve Staples; his grandchildren, David, John and Brandee Leno, Angelo Chambers, and Steven Whitten; one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday January 19, 2018 from 1 to 3pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by a memorial service at 3pm.
