Obituary of Patrick A. Moloney

CATSKILL - Patrick "Buddy". Moloney, age 79, passed away peacefully, at the Pines at Catskill, surrounded by his family, on January 10th, 2018. Patrick fought a long and brave battle with heart disease and his resilience was an inspiration to all that knew and loved him. He was born on April 13, 1938 in Limerick, Ireland.to Alphonsus Moloney and May (Slattery). Patrick was a proud veteran of the US Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1964. He was the original proprietor of Buddy's Bar, located in Limerick, which was a very popular nightspot in its day. He was a member of the "Ring of Honor" for outstanding salesmanship in the 1980's into the 90's while working in the automobile business in Albany, NY. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like taking a drive in the countryside, admiring the nature and scenery. He enjoyed a good meal with his family along with discussing various philosophies, controversial or not. He was a proud Husband, Grandfather, Father, and Uncle to all of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Kathleen, his son Brian, his loving daughter, Leona, his son in law Dennis Statham, his grandchildren, Connor, Samuel, and Grace Statham, and his daughter in law Kimberly Moloney. He is also survived by his many family members in Ireland, including his niece, Joanne Moloney, Nephews Paul and Eddie Moloney, and his sister in law, Rita Moloney. He was recently predeceased by his brother Edward Moloney, who took over Buddy's Bar into the 1980's. His family will greet friends on Monday, January 15, at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church located at 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083.
