Obituary of Deborah Ann Geurtze

Deborah Ann (Kundel) Geurtze, age 63, died on October 21, 2017 in her home in Medusa, New York surrounded by her loving family. Born to Carl Frederick Kundel and Margaret Elizabeth (Lawlor) Kundel on October 10, 1954 in Albany, New York, she was raised in the Bethlehem area where she was a graduate of the Class of 1972. Debbie enjoyed working as a secretary from 1972-1982 for the New York State Department of Health and then at Greenville High School from 1999 until her retirement in 2015. She is survived by her four children, Paul (Ashley) Geurtze, John (AnnMarie) Geurtze, Kendall (Charlie) Fritze, and Logan (Jessica) Geurtze, her six grandchildren, her siblings, Doug (Patricia) Kundel and Barbara (Eric) Hamilton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Debbie loved spending her summers at her family's camp in Wells, New York. She was a caring, strong-willed fighter who devoted her life to her children and shared her zest for life with each person she met. To know Debbie was to love Debbie.
