Obituary of Kathleen J. Caprio

MEDUSA – Kathleen (Kat) Dean Caprio, 69, died peacefully at home on Friday June 30, 2017 from a long-term illness which she courageously battled for many years. She was born on October 2, 1947 in Catskill to the late Lawrence and Hazel Whitbeck Dean. A 1965 graduate of Greenville School, Kat lived all of her life in the Medusa area, loving and caring for her family, horses, and pets. She was an avid reader and writer of poetry and children books. She was well known for her love of horses and knowledge of all things equestrian. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her four children, Tiffany (Michael), Adam (Kate), Chris (Lisa), and Jason (April); and 15 grandchildren. She was also blessed with so many good friends who loved her dearly. Kat never liked wakes and funerals, so at the request of the deceased, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Road, Hudson, NY 12534, in her memory would make her soul happy.
