Obituary of Maria Evangelista

Delmar - Maria Evangelista, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 6th, 2016, while residing at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Born on July 10th, 1929 in Italy, the daughter of Antonio and Elvira Della Rosa, Maria immigrated to the United States in January 1961 as a seamstress/tailor. She lived in Brooklyn, New York where she and her then-husband raised three children: Connie, Pasquale, and Angelo. She moved to Albany County to live with her daughter, son-in-law, and their children in 1993. Maria enjoyed playing the accordion, singing, dancing, and playing cards with her grandchildren. Maria is survived by her daughter and two sons: Connie (Tony) Parente, Pasquale (Fran) Evangelista II, and Angelo (Heidi) Evangelista; her grandchildren: Tina (Sosuke) Nabeshima, Anthony (Alicia Brasel) Parente, James Parente, Pasquale Evangelista III, Adriana Evangelista, Angelo Evangelista, Ava Evangelista, and Jack Evangelista. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 9th from 4 - 7 pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, NY, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, Route 9W, Glenmont, NY.
