Obituary of Marilyn C. Lobb

GREENVILLE - Marilyn C. Lobb passed away unexpectedly, following a brief illness and surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Albany. Marilyn was born in Westchester County in 1943, the daughter of Earl H. Gray and Mildred D. (Clark) Gray. Marilyn graduated from high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel in White Plains and worked for many years as a Registered Nurse after completing her studies at Elizabeth General Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ. She and Jens G. Lobb married in 1967. They enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage, residing for the past forty years at Mendedwall Farm on West Road in Greenville. Marilyn loved people and had a wide circle of close friends. She volunteered energetically with the Greenville Republican Committee where she served as a Committee Member. Marilyn was the matriarch of her family as well as an expert and imaginative horticulturalist and homemaker. Marilyn leaves behind her husband Jens, her son William Henry Gray Lobb (Brittany) of Oneonta and beloved granddaughter Emily, and her son Andrew James Karl Lobb (Pavlina) of Clifton Park and beloved granddaughter Iva. She also leaves two nephews, Jeffrey James Gray (Tami) and son Dylan (Michelle) of Middlebury, CT and Jamie James Gray (Kathy) and sons Evan and Eric of Cheshire, CT. Marilyn also leaves brothers-in-law Wayne Anthony Lobb (Barbara) of Sudbury, MA and William Atkinson Lobb (Maureen) and sons William and Anthony of Atlanta, GA. Her brother, James Arlen Gray of Pleasantville predeceased her in 1978. Her eldest son, Jens G. Lobb Jr., of Watervliet predeceased her in 2009. All who knew her will deeply miss her. As she wished, Marilyn will be cremated and her ashes will be kept close to those of her son's, Jens. The family will hold a Celebration of Life for all those who wish to attend, in Greenville in the Spring.
