Obituary of Vaike Poole

CLIMAX – Vaike "Vicky" Poole, 75, passed away on Saturday October 15, 2016. She was born in Parnu, Estonia on May 31, 1941 to the late Francis and Armilde Mikds Barlow. She came to the United States when she was five years old, living in Hicksville before settling in West Islip, Long Island. Vicky worked as a Senior Court Clerk, first at Suffolk County Family Court and then at Nassau County Supreme Court from where she retired. When she moved to Climax, she became an avid volunteer for Community Hospice in Columbia County and for the Dept. of the Aging in Greene County. She also was a volunteer at Olana as a docent. She was a very active and loving person, loved animals of all kinds and rescued many beloved cats over the years, enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, and was always bettering herself. Vicky is survived by her children, Brian, Valerie, Bob and Kelly Poole; her ten grandchildren; her brother Edgar Barlow; and her Aunt Elvine. Calling hours will be held on Saturday October 22, from 1 to 3pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083, followed by a funeral service at 3pm. She is then to be buried in the Freehold Cemetery.
