Obituary of Rosalind F. Lombardo

Rosalind (Chickie) Lombardo Glenmont- Rosalind (Roz) Lombardo, our angel, went to be with God on Saturday September 24, 2016. She was born on November 26, 1928 to Charlie and Edna Doin Tiedemann. She was raised in Middleburgh NY and is predeceased by her parents along with three brothers and two sisters. Roz worked many years for Henzel Powers in Albany. She was well known for making crafts for every occasion and season and sharing them with her family and friends. Roz moved to Van Allen Apartments in Glenmont where our family gained the most loving, kind, humorous and genuine extended family anyone could ask for. To name a few, much love and thanks to Jeanne, Pauline, Tootie, Carmine, Emily, Rich and, Marilyn along with all the residents and staff who loved and helped Roz. Roz loved to travel, cook for a crowd, plan parties and be with her extended Van Allen family. She was well known as the Boss or the Queen Bee of Van Allen Apartments. Just ask any of the residents!!! Roz had a special love for Englebert Humperdink where she traveled near and far to attend his concerts and always had back stage passes since she was the President of his fan club (The Tri-Engles) for many years. Roz is survived by her loving son Martin C. Lombardo and his wife Lynda Persico Lombardo. Roz was predeceased by her eldest son John (Lumpy) Lombardo. In addition, Roz leaves behind several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister Anita and her favorite partner in crime her niece, Kathaleen. The Lombardo family wishes to extend much love and gratitude to the wonderful and kind staff at the Teresian House where our Mother received such loving care. We will miss you all and special thanks to Sister Maureen and Sister Patricia. Memorial Mass will be offered on Wednesday, September 28, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery on Rt 9W in Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Teresian House at 200 Washington Ave Ext, Albany, NY 12203 would be greatly appreciated. Condolences can be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
