Obituary of Anthony Ragone

WESTERLO – Anthony Ragone, Jr., 71, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday August 11, 2016, with his devoted wife at his side. He was born on September 13, 1944 at home in Albany to the late Anthony Sr. and Alice Jones Ragone. He was raised there and in 1964 he joined the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, Anthony worked for the State of New York, Division of Parole for over 37 years, retiring in 2005. Anthony is survived by his wife, Joyce Perrier Ragone; his daughter, Angela Ragone; his siblings, Frances "Fran" (William) Holligan, Mario "Butch" (Joan) Ragone, Patricia (late John Jr.) Zimmerman, Mary Lynn (Robert) Visneaus, Lawrence (Susan) Ragone, and Joseph (Shari) Ragone; and his five nieces and seven nephews. In addition to his parents, Anthony is predeceased by his brother, Robert Ragone. A special thanks to Jim and DeDe Hagadone, for all their help and support. Calling hours will be on Monday August 15, from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Westerlo Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 will be appreciated.
