Obituary of Kathleen F. Williams

GREENVILLE – Kathleen F. "Kathie" Butler Williams, 90, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, March 12, 2016 at her residence. Born in Catskill on May 19, 1925, she was daughter of the late Carl Butler and Bertha King Weeks Butler, and wife of the late David L. Williams. Kathie graduated from Greenville High School. She worked for Phil Ellis at the former Greenville Local, and wrote a column for the former Greenville Press. Kathie most recently wrote a column called "Kathie's Diary" for Andrea Macko, editor of the Greenville Pioneer. Kathie was a member of the Clematis Garden Club, Greenville Historical Society, and the Quilters. Kathie is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Ron) Palmer and Janice (Ray) Martin; one son, Terry L. (Dawn) Williams; four grandchildren, Brandi Bailey, Katie Barker, Becky Palmer, and Kyle O'Leary; one great-granddaughter, Eryn Dutcher; nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends, and classmates. In addition to her parents and husband, Kathie was predeceased by two children, Arlene "Eileen" Barker and David Williams; and four stepbrothers, Gerald, Otto, Ernest and Clinton Weeks. At Kathie's request, there are no services. She has been cremated. Memorial donations to the Greenville Pioneer, PO Box 427, the Greenville Library, PO Box 8, both in Greenville, NY 12083, Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Road, or to AnimalKind, 721 Warren Street, both in Hudson, NY 12534, will be appreciated.
