Obituary of Gladys M. O'Keeffe

GREENVILLE - Gladys Marie O'Keeffe passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Gladys was born in Norton Hill on February 9, 1923 to Phyllis (Simpson) Hunt and Ray Hunt. She is reunited with her husband, John O'Keeffe of 54 years and her siblings Geraldine Lockwood (Phil), Doris Vadney (Bud), Charles Hunt (Ann) and Theodore Hunt (Lee). She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Donna Jennings, Bonnie Begyn, Eileen DeSalvo, Thomas Vadney, Charles Hunt and Bruce Hunt along with many grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. Gladys loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. After retiring from NYS Department of Labor, where she was supervisor of the Key Punch Unit, she spent a few years in the North Country where she and her husband enjoyed snowmobiling. Gladys was a volunteer in the Thrift Shop of the United Methodist Church of Greenville & Norton Hill, where she was a life member. A memorial service will be held in June at the Greenville-Norton Hill Methodist Church. Donations in Gladys' memory can be made to the Greenville Rescue Squad, P.O.
