Obituary of Duwane C. Flagler

WESTERLO - Duwane C. Flagler, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday November 3, 2015. He was born in Albany on November 16, 1940 to the late Clifton and Helen Messer Flagler. He was raised in Westerlo and graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo School, where he was an active member of the FFA. He worked as a dairy farmer on his family farm. Duwane had many hobbies; he was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Other hobbies included woodworking, reading, history, gardening, researching genealogy, and antiquing. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Rachell Flagler. Duwane is survived by his wife, Hazel; his children, Renee (Tim) Fisher, Robin (Jim) Smith, Cameron Flagler, Devin (Mary) Flagler, and Scott Flagler; his grandchildren, Jessica (Anthony) Zoccola, Justin Fisher, Kya, Alyssa, Austin, and Kaitlyn Flagler, and Aaron and MacKenzie Smith; his great-grandchildren, Autumn, Carter, and Mia Zoccola; and many close friends. Services are private. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Albany Medical Center and St. Peter's Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Duwane's name can be made to the Friends of the Greenville FFA attention M. Case, Greenville Central School, 4982 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083.
