Obituary of Louie E. German

DURHAM – Louie E. German, 65, passed away suddenly on Tuesday February 3, 2015. Born in Conesville on June 6, 1949 to the late Claude and Martha Cleveland German, he was raised in Conesville before moving to Durham. He joined the Army in 1970 and finished high school in Germany while in the service. After coming back from Germany, Louie settled in Durham with his wife, Gislinde. He worked for the Town of Durham on the Highway Department until his retirement. Louie was an outdoorsman all the way, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. He is predeceased by his parents and his siblings Edward German, Leslie German, and Eunice Shroh. Louie is survived by his wife Gislinde Kranz German; son Thomas German and partner Roy Baker; sisters Rosemary Kendle and Ethel German; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 6, from 4 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral service and burial will occur in the spring.
