Obituary of Evelyn Kellie

MEDUSA – Evelyn Kellie, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in The Pines at Catskill. Born in Catskill on October 4, 1929, she was daughter of the late Adelbert D. and Ethel Softy Butler, and wife of the late Philip M. Kellie, who died June 26, 1997. Evelyn and her family were on the family farm from 1948 to 1964. Subsequently, she worked as a waitress at many of the boarding houses around Greenville, and retired from West Winds Diner in Preston Hollow. Evelyn enjoyed membership in the Rensselaerville Seniors Club. Evelyn is survived by eight children, Robert (Lucille) Kellie, Arlene (David) Ingalls, Barbara (Tom) Knapp, Marion (Ken) Cooke, Richard (Patricia) Kellie, Howard (Marilyn) Kellie, Elaine (Charles) Ippolito, and Bruce (Jaena) Kellie; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was predeceased by her sister, Madlyn Giacomino. Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by the funeral at 7 p.m. Spring burial will be in Rensselaerville Cemetery.
