Obituary of Dominick Joseph Saldamarco

DURHAM – Dominick J. Saldamarco passed away on Saturday November 8, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Albany. He was born on July 13, 1941 in Bronx, NY to Andrew and Grace (Cerbone) Saldamarco. He graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers, was in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968, and then ran his own blacksmith company in Yonkers: Cross County Steel and Rock Bit Company. In 1981, he and his wife, Patricia – Lynn bought a home in East Jewett, where they have lived ever since. Dominick loved to hunt and ride his motorcycle. He was a part of the Knights of Columbus, Am-Jam Family, Eureka Rod and Gun Club, Preston Hollow Rod and Gun Club, and was the Chief of the East Jewett Fire Department. Dominick is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia – Lynn Mentzer; his children, Grace – Marie (Frenchy) Adami, Andrew (Arline) Saldamarco, Donna ann (Mike) Allan, and Andrea (Jamie) Betters; his grandchildren, Robert Joseph, Dominick Robert, Patricia Gilberté, Shane, Dottell – Jane, Domenic, Marie – Grace, Thomas James, Jackie, and Clarissa; and his great grandchildren, Roman, Laiton, Giana Marie, and Trinity. He is pre deceased by his parents, his parents in-law Walter and Kathryn Mentzer, and his grandson Joshua. As were his wishes, Dominick has been cremated and at this time there are no services.
